We Love Asian drama: Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)

Great Teacher Onizuka
This Asian Drama is based on a manga written by Fijisawa Tohru. 'GTO' is the reason why i fell in love with Asian Drama. A friend of mine told me to watch this Japanese play. At first, I was skeptical for the very reason that I don't understand Japanese and reading subtitles seemed like a very stupid thing to do. Anyhow, I gave Asian dramas a try thinking that I would see the first episode and thats it. But, when I finished watching the first episode, I could't stop my self from watching the second. Then, there was no turning back. Now I am running a blog dedicated to Asian Dramas.

Anyways 'GTO' is a light comedy Asian Drama with lots of Karate. It is about Onizuka Ikichi, a graduate from a third-rate university and has ties to a huge motorcycle gang. His lifelong dream to become a teacher comes true when he is hired by an eccentric Director of a high school. The class given to him is considered as a hopeless group of individuals who would do any thing to make their teacher's life a living hell. These students act in this manner because they were betrayed by their previous teacher. Now Onizuka has to regain their trust and steer them back in the right direction. Other teachers don't like him and are always conspiring against him.

This Asian drama teaches us that teenagers do sometimes lose their way due to some unfortunate incident or acquaintance, but this does not mean that they cannot be brought back to the right path. As adults, it is our duty to guide them through this phase and intervene where necessary. In other words, we should never give up on someone, no matter how hopeless their case is.

Do watch it!

We Love Asian Drama: Boys Before Flowers(Hana Yori Dango)

Hana Yori Dango
Most of the websites rate it as the best Asian drama of all time. I believe that it is up there there amongst the best. This Drama was originally made in Japan by name of 'Hana Yori Dango' in 2005.
This story is about a girl Makino Tsukushi, who is the only poor girl in Eitoku Gakuen high school, which is known for ridiculously rich students. This Asian school is ruled by a gang of four boys known as 'F4'. These boys belong to four of the strongest families in Japan and they make an example out any one who disobeys them. Same happened with Tsukushi, she is given a 'red notice' which means that F4 wants her out of the school and they will make her life hell until she leaves. Initially Tsukushi bears the humiliation and tries to pass time without drawing too much attention on herself. One day, she decides that she will not hide any more and fight with 'F4'. Her resolve and strong will power changes her enemies. The people who wanted her out of the university, now want to be a part of her life!
There are some beautiful song in this drama. I cannot understand Japanese or any other Asian language for that matter but still i liked them alot.
In 2009 this Asian drama was remade in Korea by the name of 'Boys Before Flowers' which is also pretty good and is rated quite highly. But in my view, The Japaneses version is better!

We Love Asian Drama: The 1st shop of Coffee Prince!

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince
'The 1st shop of Coffee Prince' is probably one of the best Korean dramas of all time. There are very few Asian Dramas better than this. It is a light comedy love story which takes many unexpected turns. Choi Han Kyul is the heir of a big Asian food company and an eligible bachelor. His grandmother is persistent about him getting married, but he is in no mood to do that and keeps making excuses. Instead he starts a coffee shop and is looking for people to work for him. Go Eun Chun is living a pretty miserable life and has to do many jobs to support her family. When she meets Kyul, he thinks that Chun is a boy, desperate for a job Go Eun Chun disguises herself as a boy and starts working in the coffee shop. GO Eun Chun and Choi Han kyul become very close friends. Even though Kyul thinks that Chun is a boy, He starts falling for her.

We Love Asian Anime: Kinichi The Stongest Disciple

This is probably my favourite Asian anime of all time. I have watched it three time and still it is not enough. This story is about love Commitment and protecting the people you love. Kinichi is a very well written Asian manga which makes the viewer experience every emotion one can humanly experience.
This Asian amine is about a young 16 year old boy Kinichi who has been picked by his school mates through his life. on his first day in high school he befriends a Mysterious and beautiful transfer student Miu. He coincidently sees her fighting with a guy, which impresses him so much that he starts following her every where. He follows her to a dojo known as 'Ryozanpaku'. In this dojo live five masters of different Asian fighting styles. Looking at Kinichi's dedication They agree to teach him their respective styles. By accepting to be their apprentice he doesn't realize that he is has chosen hell. The training is inhuman and he is beaten to death every time he faces Apachai the kick boxing master. Now he has to make people stop bullying him but what he doesn't realize that he is challenging a very strong syndicate of Asian fighters who fight him according to ranks one after the other. Thanks to his training he keeps beating them and his honest and friendly nature helps him conquer his opponents hearts. What he doesn't know is that the top two members of this syndicate are almost impossible to beat and their masters have taught them to be ruthless.
You should watch the anime to find out what happens next. But one thing that i can assure u is that, no matter which age group you belong to, you will fall in love with this anime.

We Love Asian drama: Bodyguard!

Bodyguard

I recently watched a relatively old Asian (Korean) drama 'Bodyguard'. this story is about Kyung-Tak, who was kicked out of Korean army due to a mistake made by his superior. He is jobless and looking for a job. Meanwhile, his sister's friend is in trouble and has to come and live in his house. she is very talented and wants to be a designer wants to be a designer. Kyung-tak gets a job in a company which provides security services to high profile Asian Diplomats. there he meet Han Go Eun who Initially questions his hiring but eventually falls in love with him. He learns the art of being bodyguard and becomes a very promising prospect. His 'Bodyguard' skills are come in quite handy when he has to protect his sisters friend Na young, who by the way has also fallen completely in love with him. this forms a perfect love triangle.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 5. but if you are getting bored and don't have any thing to do, you can watch this Asian drama.

We Love Asian Drama: Dream High!

Dream High Korean Drama Image

Dream High! this is the name of the most recent Asian drama that i watched. It is about a group of young people who are immensely talented, but there personal life tragedies have crushed there self confidence and they no longer trust the system and the people running it. This story illustrates how there talent is identified by a teacher and how they struggle for their dream which at first, seemed impossible to achieve.
This Asian drama pours light on a very important issue that, if some one has talent, it not only his responsibility to come through with the goods. It is also the responsibility of the people running the system to guide them to their rightful glory.
I short, the drama was pretty awesome and i urge the reader to watch it. There are very few Asian drama which are a good source of time pass and inspiring at the same time. This definitely is one of them!

We Love Asian Drama: 1 litre of tears! sad but awesome!

There are very few Asian dramas which grab your attention rite from the very first scene. This Asian drama is definitely among those. What makes this drama great is that it doesn’t let you think about anything else while you are watching it. The name ‘1 Liter of Tears’ has more to do with person watching it rather than the actual story of this drama. I couldn’t stop my tears throughout this Asian saga.

It is about a young girl suffering from a fatal incurable disease known as ‘Spinocerebellar Dageneration’. This Asian drama is not just about how she fights the disease, but how she inspires others while doing so. It also emphasizes on the fact that it is not only hard for the patient, the family shares its fare share of grief and burden. It teaches us a very valuable lesson that, it doesn’t matter how long we live. What we do with our lives is the real question, which in turn defines the path that the people around us take.

Awesome Asian drama and a must watch………… watch it and do let me know…..It is based on a true story and FYI. 10 million copies of the book written by the girls were sold In asia!
